I had thought I would have a few more chapters available in the podcast before my book became available on Amazon.com, but it was up before I expected. A few people have told me that they listened to Chapter 1, and I wonder if they’ll buy the book and read the rest in text form, or if they’ll continue listening, or perhaps do both. I enjoy doing both, but sometimes I just want to listen, because I stare at words all day on the screen.

I had my first reading over the weekend. It was at an online conference for English language teachers, and I read an excerpt during the open mic night. I wore my new socks.

This week someone suggested that self-published authors ought to offer to read in retirement homes. I may just add this suggestion to my list. My dad and his wife plan to leave a copy on their next cruise ship. It’s fun to imagine my story sailing around the world.
