About the Writer

Tara Benwell is a freelance writer and editor who specializes in materials and articles for the ELT industry. Since trading her teaching career for self employment five years ago, Tara has been telecommuting throughout Canada, the U.S. and Asia, working with educational content producers and publishers, such as Dr. Lin Lougheed and Red River Press. In 2008, Tara gave up her role as senior writer, editor, and trainer at Creative English Solutions, to focus on materials for young learners. Her most recent credits include a 36-part reading and activity series, published at English-Avenue.com. Tara's materials and articles are published monthly at EnglishClub.com and TEFL.net, award winning websites in the ELT industry. Tara is also interested in environmental issues, especially green parenting. In the past she has contributed to Talkgreen.ca and Eco Child's Play. Self employment has allowed Tara the flexibility required to balance career, fiction, and motherhood.

Tara finished her first novel and secured representation with The Carolyn Swayze Agency. With one of Canada's most successful literary agents in her corner, Tara hopes to find an interested publisher for The Proper Order of Things. Revisions are in progress.

Tara lives in Whitby, Ontario with her husband Dean and their daughter and son.
